Without Stability | Control™, the threshold voltage in a-Si TFTs can shift from 2-3V to over 15V. IGNIS Stability Control technology actually reduces the threshold voltage shift to under 1V, in both oxide and a-Si TFTs. This remaining shift can be managed using IGNIS’s Intelligent Pixel.

IGNIS stability control uses three methods to reduce the threshold voltage shift:
1Relaxation: By relaxing the TFT during each video frame, the threshold voltage shift is reduced by over 3 times.
2Recovery: By using a special bias condition while the display is off, the threshold voltage shift is reversed.
3Process Tuning (a-Si only): Minor optimizations to the a-Si TFT process (without adding any extra steps, or additional processing time) reduce the threshold voltage shift significantly. The tuning is compatible with any a-Si process, but is not necessary for oxide TFTs.
